Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is achieved by placing implants to increase the volume and projection of the breasts. The implants used can be either saline or silicone. The implants can be placed either above or below the pectoralis muscle. Dr. Mussat offers three incision choices: inframammary fold (below the breast), peri-areolar (around the edge of the nipple) or axillary (under the arm). There are many factors to be considered for each patient in order to individualize and optimize the result. All of these factors will be discussed with Dr. Mussat during your consultation.
Breast Lift
A breast lift is a procedure designed to uplift and improve the shape of the breast. Changes that occur to the breasts due to pregnancy, breast feeding, gravity and aging can be addressed with a breast lift. The technique varies depending on the degree of ptosis (droopiness) that needs to be corrected. In some patients, implants can be used to help restore the shape of the breasts. This is a highly individualized procedure, and the individual variables will be discussed with Dr. Mussat during your consultation.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is a procedure designed to reduce the size and weight of the breasts. Women that have breasts that are too large for their body frame often experience shoulder, neck and back pain. Other common complaints that are associated with large breasts are grooves in the shoulders from bra straps, inability to exercise and rashes under the breasts. This procedure is often covered by insurance companies if certain criteria are met. Dr. Mussat will discuss all of the options that are available during your consultation.
Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction if performed to restore a breast that is lost due to breast cancer or injury. There are many variables that are considered to help each patient achieve the optimal result. Breast reconstruction is usually covered by insurance companies. Dr. Mussat performs breast reconstruction using either implants or tissue from the patient's own body. All of the available options will be discussed with Dr. Mussat at your consultation.
